Isn't he everyones favourite?

As you might have gathered, I'm not the most agreeable 😇 But for once I am in agreement with one of our members when it comes to my favourite poker player and that is the legend that is Texas Doyle "dolly" Brunson. An all time mainstay of the game, double figures WSOP bracelets, one of the very few to it back to back (73/74 from memory?) and one of the few remaining crossovers from those early games when sometimes just getting out alive was a result!

For those that didn't know the nickname dolly was not peer nominated or of any significance, the story as Doyle tells it is after an early big win a local paper ran an article and totally nerfed on the name, he liked it, it stuck. He was also quite the athlete, if I recall correctly he picked up the poker habit when injury forced him to reconsider his future options. At the time he was on a state scholarship.

He might not be Dave Grohls but he can be my hero,,,,,
