Most important aspect of strategy in tournament poker

I think the most important strategy in tournament poker is to play according the size size of your stack relativ to the stage of the tournament and it's size in comparison to the average chipstack and other players who have not yet folded. 

Don't bluff against very small or much bigger stacks. 

This does not apply when you are holding a very short stack.
