Poker or the tv or both 🤔
Iāve been playing on 888 Poker for 12 years, which basically means my brain now refuses to do one thing at a time. Watching TV without poker on my phone feels illegal, like Iām wasting perfectly good thinking power. At some point, TV stopped being entertainment and became background noise. The real action? Folding bad hands, chasing draws I definitely shouldnāt, and telling myself this is the last game (it never is). A show can be gripping, dramatic, award-winning⦠and Iāll still be more emotionally invested in a Ā£2 pot. The funny thing is, my interest in poker has dipped over the years, but the habit hasnāt. I donāt always enjoy it ā I just feel weird without it. Sitting through a full episode with no poker table open now feels like meditation. Uncomfortable, confusing meditation. Twelve years on, Iāve learned many things: patience, probability, and that my phone will appear in my hand the second the TV turns on. Poker didnāt ruin TV for me ā it just turned it into a side quest.
Been there ššš. Once pokerās wired into your routine, silence feels wrong. Even a Ā£2 pot can steal the spotlight from Netflix - folding junk hands has become second nature. Poker as a habit is real, enjoyment optional.

Your post makes me laugh , Its the choices we make everyday. They become US . T.V used to be good because it used to while away periods of boredom but now it cant be enjoyed unless you choose to enjoy it. Same as poker , this means good time management and programme selection . What T.v do i want to consume and when? I like cartoons like Adventure Time, South Park, Rick & morty or stuff like Mr Pickles or Salad fingers or much older cartoons like Ren & stimpy , pinky & the brain. I also watch a lot of youtube, but mostly long form interviews/ conversations and poker content. I wish you all the best managing your habits, i know how hard managing mine are!
