Poker Priorities!

Hello Cardmates, recently I have found myself on a massive downswing……

Making all the wrong choices……..

Just basically playing full tilt poker!

Now, on Friday ten minutes before the start of the Cardmates freeroll tournament on GGPoker. I logged into Cardmates to find a fellow Cardmate had dm’d me to say he had recently gained “Fan” status, but had not received his ticket.

With this, I found myself frustrated and angry not being able to resolve the situation because I just want to make sure that all Cardmates have the same opportunities and rewards for their achievements as I have.

The tournament then started and I found myself not prioritising my focus on competing in the tournament, but trying to get my fellow Cardmate into the tournament.

I am glad I went out of the tournament, because of the commitment and focus I gave to it.

I did not manage to achieve getting my fellow Cardmate into the tournament.

So, it was a loose, loose just a typical day at the tables for me recently!

Therefore, I have come to the conclusion…….

  • I am not a serious Poker player
  • but a recreational Poker player
  • who is more interested in Community than the actual poker
  • respects the intricate complexity and commitment required to make it in Poker
  • I do not use solvers, only intuition

I believe this gives me an edge on my overall commitment towards the game.

I love the game, but have no financial commitment to the game.

In turn, it allows me to prioritise community over financial reward.

Does this make me a failure, as a poker player or wise to the odds of making it as a poker player!

please as always, share your opinion in the comments Cardmates ♥️♣️♦️♠️🃏💙

I quite like your personal stories of the ups and downs in your life. Its very real and often quite relatable with me. The manic persuit of money ruins our relationships with all these real things and just takes away our only meaningful currency > time. I hope you find the right balance between playing poker for fun and trying to take it seriously and not losing too much time and/or money in the process. Lets go Rono!

Thanks noodeloo, we seem to share the same sort of balance regarding this and I don’t really gamble much of my own money.

So game on ♥️♣️♦️♠️🃏💙
