So Close… and Then the River
Hey everyone,
Had one of those tournaments recently where everything was going perfectly. Good table, good spots, chips building nicely - you know the feeling when the flow is just there and decisions feel easy. Fast forward to the final table and I’m feeling great about the spot. Got the money in ahead, exactly where you want to be at that stage. Honestly thought, “Alright, this could be the one.” And then… the river had other ideas. Opponent catches what he needs and suddenly the whole momentum flips. One card and the stack that was supposed to be mine goes the other way. Not going to lie, I was a bit annoyed in the moment. But that’s poker, right? You can do everything right and the deck still writes the ending. Still, final tables are always a good sign things are going in the right direction.
Anyone else had one of those “everything perfect until the last card” moments lately?
