Starting My Freeroll Journey as a UK Player

I’m kicking off this blog to document my path as a freeroll grinder based in the UK.

There are plenty of no‑buy‑in tournaments available across different platforms, and I want to explore which ones are actually worth the time. Some run daily, others weekly, and a few are private events that reward active communities. Each has its own structure and atmosphere, and I’m curious to see how far consistency alone can take me. Freerolls are often chaotic, but they’re also the most accessible way to start building a bankroll from scratch. You get real tournament experience without risking anything, and every deep run feels like progress.

My plan is to track the freerolls available to UK players, share results, and highlight the events that stand out. I’ll also be following the new private freerolls organised here on Cardmates for active bloggers. These look like a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys the grind and wants to turn regular activity into real tournament entries.

This post is just the beginning. I’ll be adding updates as I play more events, gather information, and settle into a routine. More posts are on the way - including freeroll reviews, results, and general thoughts from the grind.

Good idea, mate. Freerolls are messy, but tracking the decent ones for UK players is useful. Good luck with the grind!
