Streaming is Hard, Streaming Poker Looks Easy But Really Is Not!

Hello Cardmates,

My name is m00se0akley and i am a streamer on Twitch where i try and play poker whilst streaming.

I am 53 years old and have a Mrs and two cats called Ziggy and Skuggi.

Now, you might think streaming poker is easy.

You just fire up a poker table, press the stream button and off you go.

Well, if only it was that simple!

There is a lot more to it than just playing cards.

You have to keep an eye on the chat, talk to your viewers, make sure everything is working properly and, oh yes, actually concentrate on your poker!

Then there are the times when your stream decides to play up, something stops working or you get a run of cards that makes you wonder why you bother playing poker in the first place!

The hardest part for me is trying to do everything at once.

When you're playing a hand that needs your full attention, you don't want to miss a message in chat, but when you're talking to people, you can easily miss something happening at the table.

And let's not forget that people are watching. Nobody wants to sit there in silence for ages, especially when the cards aren't coming your way.

I love streaming and playing poker, but I'm still learning all the time. Every stream teaches me something new, whether it's about poker, the technical side of streaming or just how to keep people entertained.

At the moment I am trying to build a community of poker fans that also like hanging out in an enjoyable stream so i play music and have song requests enabled for viewers. We usually have around four tables running at various buy-in levels from micros up to $16.50 buy ins.  Mostly we play community homegames on ACR poker which is the platform i stream on. My homegame is also in ACR on tuesdays at 8pm UK time.

So next time you watch someone playing poker on Twitch, remember there's probably a lot more going on behind the scenes than you realise!

Come say Hi sometime all are welcome

Good luck at the tables, Cardmates, and remember... The m00se Is l00se!
