The darwin award for poker play goes to.....

This 90% VPIP donkey..... I am 9%VPIP at this point I have not bled a single chip other than blinds and after 13 hands of trash I get QK suited UTG limp from a 70% fish, not bothered I am UTG +1 and below 10BB mandatory shove. The only hand that calls is 2 4 off, they are the chip lead and 90%+VPIP, but still I need the call explaining to me. Everyone between us folded, everyone after them folded. Every person at that table knew I had kept my powder dry for 13 hands, not been tempted by a single ace rag or offsuit broadway or the usual muck players actually raise with and pulled the trigger with the best I had seen in 14 hands once officially in short stack territory.

So please explain the call to me. It's not pot odds, we went heads up, for that to be profitable you need to hold at least 50% equity or long term you are just bleeding money. I'm not sure 2 4 off has 50% equity against the worse of it? 7 2 has over card, 2 3 better connectivity? It's not table image, I did not play a pot out of 13 up until that point.

So other than ego or a 100% certainty that the software was gonna drop you that 4 and then run dry on the straight give me a valid reason for calling off 18% of your stack against the tightest player at the table with 2 4. It defies any logic.

Honestly I don't expect an answer, from what I have seen, with people declaring their pocket 8 bad beats as a hot hand you all actually think these kind of plays are intelligent and a reward for your genius.

I left my hand history in the snippet so you can see the crap I folded that half of you be raising with....   Ooooh I got an Ace ship it....   ffs

888Joker home of the bad beat on repeat.

I just ran the stats for 42 off against 23 off 72 off etc it struggles to et over 30% in any of the match ups, it's best is a small fav to 2 3 off at 29 vs 23 with a 48% chance of split. 2 to 1 dog against my hand so long term a ~16%+ leak.

tbh moi this is typical donk of players at low stake or free roll its to be expected, yeah the call was so bad by him but expected. if your looking for people that dont donk stuff like that you need to look into medium stakes. Just be happy it was a +EV call and walk away onto the next.

The problem for me is I need to build a balance, yet because 888Poker variance is so bad even when I get my chips in as 60%+ favourite I lose. My EV is over 1.3million, my actual is 80,000 over 4 weeks, do you understand why I may be frustrated that for 4 straight weeks 888Joker RNG has delivered the bottom 18% to 35% runout strings over 90% of the time.

Donks are always going to be donks, that's the supposed beauty of them and fish, until the runout inversion becomes a 24/7 reality. What I am trying to ascertain is if anyone can actually justify this play or if it is just idiots clicking buttons we are up against, picture the 1000 monkeys with the 1000 typewriters, trust me you are not getting shakespeare, you are getting a 1000 typewriters covered in monkey pooh.

To me a play like this flags serious concerns, anyone with a brain wouldn't make it, so maybe it's not someone with a brain, but a badly set up script executing plays based on parameters, timing of inputs etcetera, maybe? It really does concern me that people find this kind of thing standard and acceptable, I mean we judge others by own standards, are you calling all in 4 2 off on a wing n a prayer too against 9% VPIP? I mean even having never played the game and just having had it explained to me I'd say 2 4 off was going off reservation?

if its freeroll or low stakes people will just donk the worst hands a click buttons, if your doing freerolls as well you balance shouldn’t really suffer as your not paying for the tournaments. im not justifying there playing standards its upto them how they play mate, im on $600+ on 888poker since the start of the year, pretty much 95% from freerolls nothing touched my ballance. Like i say you will find this always on freerolls, just chin up mate your a good player your EV graph shown that.

So all in against a fortress with 2 4 off does not ring any alarm bells for you?

Honestly, if that happened at a live table, I think most of the players would call the floor and raise concerns about chip dumping/collusion even though the hand did not run the way it should. Anyone trying to dump their stack into a 9% VPIP's all-in with air is suspicious.

I guess that's just my opinion though, thanks for your thoughts, maybe you are right, maybe I credit people with way more intelligence than they deserve.

I got done by the same hand on 888 but I had pocket AA and we were 1st and 2nd in the tournament!

Like how is somebody in the top 2 of a tournament playing that crap unless they are in the BB and limp along?

If you tried to trap with Aces in an 888Poker tournament I hope you have learnt lol. You ship them, you run the gauntlet, end of, no limping to trap unless deep and playing proper players and even then, you are playing with fire if the BB has you covered. If it's an 888Joker MTT I ship them all-in every time, if it's something deeper stacked or has a decent entry fee I would still raise 2.2-2.5x BB just to clear out the real dregs. It's great if you have five fish and your ace's hold but realistically your equity is at best 25% with the aces and 4 limp alongs so best to try to isolate a target :)

If you did and they called anyways please check your logs, if it's the same user I am calling poorly scripted bot immediately 🤣
