Time away from the table

I recently spent a lovely 4/5 days away camping in a field with about 40 mates. The place had a sauna and a swimming pool and it was some really lovely rest and relaxation that i just haven't  had in such a long time.

It was really lovely to connect with so many people and get involved in some really fun activities like group singing , clay modelling & getting involved with the cooking and cleaning and generally helping out. It was a group of friends that my sister knows so not many people that i knew but there was a couple of lads i went to secondary school with who were really lovely and we had a great chat playing some tennis together.

I dont know why sleeping outside i seem to sleep so much better only needing a solid 5 hours to feel replenished and energised for the next day. Also the sauna and absolutely freezing swimming pool was a great contrast and also a really energising activity. I found myself giggling like a silly idiot when i got out the pool and realised i wasn't cold at all like I'd  just been telling myself!

Im super lucky to have been invited and I have to remember to write a lovely thankyou note and maybe ill be invited back next year!

Just thought id share and ask if anyone has done anything similar recently and feels a bit life replenished from it? Sending positivity to all the peeps out there , Cardmates friends.

That sounds like the ultimate reset, mate! 🌲 There’s something about a freezing pool and a sauna that just shocks the 'poker brain' back into reality.

I usually find that after a break like that, my focus is 10x sharper because I’m not just staring at cards in a dark room. Clay modeling and group singing definitely beats staring at a 3-bet range all day! 😅

Do you find it hard to jump back into the grind after being so relaxed, or are you feeling more 'on it' now?
