Dusk Til Dawn ID Fiasco

So I was in Nottingham to play at DTD a few months back with my brother and we had travelled from opposite sides of the country to meet  up and play.

Now if you've played at DTD recently you'll know that everything is now biometric, eyes scanners, thumb prints its the dogs nuts.

Anyway as I'm scanning my eyes the woman at reception calls me over and tells me my I.D on the system is out of date, I chuckled obviously thinking this must be some new in joke the staff make because they have my eyes recorded down to my fovea's. 

So I approach the desk and she tells me my passport still on the system is 2 years out of date, I told her I had attended DTD approx 20 times in those 2 years and why did it matter as they have my eyes, picture and thumbprint. She gave me the usual spiel about anti money laundering etc so I put it to her that they were basically accusing me of stealing someone's eyes and thumbs to gain access to their establishment lol I can't help it.

I explained to her that since they had my retina on file I didn't believe I required I.D so I have left my new passport at home and I'll bring it next time, I kindly explained I'd travelled hundreds of miles, booked time off work, found childcare, booked a hotel but no dice she wasn't having it.

Realising that persisting would end up getting me banned I had to let it slide despite how silly it seemed to me, I love DTD too much to ever disrespect or cause any problems there but with the amount I've tipped over the years to the regular staff I expected better. From the doorman to reception to the girls who bring our drinks I'm acting like Diamond Jim when I'm there and they all know my face.

If anybody's is thinking of going to DTD anytime soon, take your I.D.

Just a side note to this my loyal brother didn't play either so we both played at the local casino that night and ended up heads up which my brother won, it was only 13 players and I think he took 380 for winning, that weekend we had a great time as usual but that's another story.
