How Poker Player Reads People So Fast.
Hey Cardmates,
As a poker player, you don't just need to know how to play your cards alone you also need to know the art of reading your opponent.
Doesn't mean you take ages reading the player cause time is of tthe essence, you need to master how to do it fast.
Some of the importance things you need to know is how to; spot a nervous smile or catch someone looking at their cards. This is you noticing small changes in behaviour. Here's what you need to looks for:
Their baseline
Before looking for tells, watch how someone behaves when there's nothing major at stake. Do they talk a lot? Sit still? Avoid eye contact? You need to know what's normal for them before you can spot what different.
Changes in pace
Someone who suddenly starts talking faster or goes unusually quiet might be feeling pressure. The key isn't the behaviour itself, but the change from how they were acting before.
Sudden stillness
Some players become noticeably still when a big decision comes up. It can be an attempt to avoid giving anything away, though it doesn't automatically mean they're bluffing.
The important thing is not to read these behaviors in isolation. Look for changes, consider the situation, and pay atention to betting patterns first. A tell might give you a clue, but the cards and the action still matter most.
