Would You Call Here?
I want to hear your opinions Cardmates.
Imagine you're deep in the money at the WSOP Europe Main Event, facing your opponent in a blind-versus-blind battle. You have a decent hand, but the river is about to put you in a tough spot.
Blinds: 10k/20k/20k
Your hand: K♠️ 6♠️
You complete from the small blind, and your opponent raises to 60k. You call.
Flop: Q❤️ 10♠️ 9♦
You check. He checks behind.
Turn: 6♠️
You check again. He bets 90k, and you call with your pair of sixes.
River: K♣️
You now hold a two pair: kings and sixes. You check, but your opponent suddenly shoves 225k.
You've got a strong-looking hand, but the board looks dangerous.
He could be bluffing, or he could actually have you crushed with a straight, a set, or even a better two pair.
Do you call or fold?
Personally I'd fold, never trust a confident hand
Very valid
If I had no read, and no idea of their PFR frequency, then like Lawv I would fold based on the 3x raise from the BB, there's up and down straights out there, if he had QK broadway hand his two pair outstrips yours. QQ he's got a set, the only hands you are beating really are bluffs and AA AK combos. If we knew more about their play we could maybe determine this based on their sizing when similar hands have shown down, or their defending range in the BB from previous orbits, but on only the raw data above I'd say you were beat AK AA in the BB with a limp from the SB is a mandatory shove in my book unless you've been trapping. Which puts a 3x raise in the broadway/tier1/2 pocket pair which probably hits that runout?
I love the detailed breakdown
Fold in this situation, they have to be drawing better than two pair shoving in that position, in that tournament! Great Question Dorotii, I like it 😉
That's a solid judgement call
I'm folding too
