So, firstly I can't groan too hard, tickets in 6 tourneys at least today. However.....
I am in the step through tourney from one of tickets, final table 5 go through 7 left. I can't believe I even feel this elation still when it happens, hopefully from now on it will fill me with fear but please help, how else could I play this. I have less than 2 BB I am in the SB and I have pocket rockets, only player at the table really getting out of order is guy to my right (or so I thought, I know you should defend BB wide but a shove from the short stack SB who has VPIP of 19%, has played two hands to showdown at final table and won both should maybe set off small alarm bells).
Anyhoo I digress so fish to right calls (I guess if I want to give the Q 6 off in the BB any credit he was thinking could win overpot off fish?) and BB calls, flop comes Q J 5 BB shoves, way too quick, manages to scare off the 70% VPIP and is still dominated by an overpair. Instant 888Poker donk play reward activated pair the 6 on the turn.
Next Tourney QQ shoves my blind got me triple stacked and am getting to blinding out call with my A 10, make the pair, hold the turn, queen on the river. Taken like a man, better hand won in the end GG.

Yeah I honestly think the whole 85/15 against any two unpaired cards needs re-visiting via actual real world simulations. I know mine get cracked more than they hold up as I barely get them and every time I do am on here ranting about sucking out with them. I honestly think they are a coin flip pre flop and unless you connect with the board the worlds biggest nightmare. Don't know who's set mining (had a pair cracked by a set of 4's had to credit the dude, played them exactly like I would). I'd be more comfortable with them deeper into a tourney as assume most have the fish have gone by then. That can be a costly assumption though when 60+ plis VPIP players are at the final table and don't have 5x the stack of everyone else so weren't running that well.....
Just lost again with them the alleged "bet and skill" freeroll, guy shoved 10 7 off two paired the flop. So sick. I just got rivered on GG in free daily cash game, all in with a two outer I call with a made hand hit's runner runner flush, at least had decency to say sorry but that was me down to 300 chips and of course my A 10 meets QQ again and again no ace from space for me or trip/quad 10's am not greedy ;)
