My Ego Trap
I had a massive reality check during my grinding session on CoinPoker last night. After picking up some wins on betting over the weekend, I hopped onto the cash tables feeling absolutely invincible. My confidence was completely maxed out, and I immediately started playing with an aggressive, bullying style, assuming I could just force my will on the table.
It took exactly three orbits to realize I was walking straight into an absolute trap.
I was letting my competitive high from sports betting dictate my poker choices. I was opening far too wide out of position, over-bluffing dry boards, and trying to force folds out of players who simply had the math on their side.
Poker doesn't care about your winning streak in another sport. Every single hand exists in a mathematical vacuum. I had to log off, take a breather, and remind myself that discipline on the green felt is entirely independent of your bankroll size.
