Switching It Up: Calling More, Folding Less ♠️
Lately, I’ve been noticing something compelling.
I fold a hand… and then the flop comes out perfect for it.
Not once. Not twice. It’s been happening a lot.
I know I've highlighted on my last posts that I'll always call strong hands (A,K) and fold weak ones (3,5), which has been working fine but lately after multiple gameplay I’ve observed that some of the hands I fold are actually not that bad as I expected it to be.
So I’ve decided to try something different this week. Instead of playing too tight and letting those spots go, I’m going to start calling a bit more, especially in situations where the risk is small and the potential is there.
Of course this isn't about calling all the hands I get. I still need to stay aware of my position, know who I'm up against and avoid getting trapped in bad positions.
The goal isn’t to be reckless…
It’s to be less predictable and more open to opportunities.
This might work. It might not.
But that’s part of the process trying things, adjusting, and seeing what actually improves your game.
For now, I’m switching it up.
Calling more. Folding less.
Let’s see what it brings. ♠️
This is always the way In poker anyway. You can guarantee you fold a hand you think is rubbish and time after time it ends up hitting and you would have walked away with the pot.
However . There are a time and a place to start playing general weaker hands.
Early doors , low blinds. Then yeah worth a shot.
Big stack.
If you have a decent stack you can always play around with hands and have plenty of variety.
The issues are , high blinds , short stacks , or being deep in.
All part of poker. Choosing what to play, when to play.
That all becomes second nature the more experience gained.
Endevour, I hope to see how you get on with your adjustments.
I am interested to see if it pays off. Obviously there is a fine line between balancing the path you are taking but it hopefully pays off GL🤞🚀
