You know what's more embarrassing than losing a big pot? Celebrating before you've actually won it 😆

I was playing a hand with A♠️ 7♠️, and the flop comes A♦️ 7❤️ K♣️. Two pair. I'm already feeling pretty good about myself.

I bet, my opponent calls, and the turn brings the 2♦️. Nothing scary. I bet again, and he calls.

Then comes the river: 7♦️.

Full house! I was excited. I just stared for a moment, smiling at my screen, and start imagining how nice that pot is going to look in my stack.

I shoved all-in.

He barely hesitate before calling, and then he turns over K♦️ K❤️.

A full house. But a stronger one.

I stare at the screen, then at my cards, then back at the screen cause I couldn't believe my eyes.

My hand was strong, but his was stronger.

The worst part? I'd already started celebrating in my head.

I couldn't even get angry. I just laughed at myself. Poker has a special way of humbling you right when you think you've figured everything out.
