I still remember sitting at the poker table, staring down at my cards while the pressure started to build. It wasn’t the strongest hand I had ever seen, but something about the situation felt different. My opponent was confident, almost too confident.
Instead of rushing into the decision, I took my time and watched. The way he placed his chips, the timing of his bets, and the small changes in his behaviour were telling a story. I trusted my read, made the move, and watched him fold a hand that could have beaten mine.
That moment reminded me that poker is not just about getting lucky with the cards. It’s about patience, observation, and making the right decision when it matters most.

Sounds more like you are an aspiring author than a poker player but generally I always remember the hands that I lost not the one`s I won. This one time in a serious money game I had the 3 of spades in the hole and the 4,5,6,7 of spades came out, I bet everything and the other person had the 8 of spades. Every time I hear the 'ace of spades' by motorhead I now hear the 8 of spades. For the record, I learned very little from that, I would of done it again 100% of the time.
