Phil asserted himself loudly from the very beginning and "keeps the brand" up to this very moment. Lots of poker fans know him as a 24-year-old owner of a WSOP bracelet, but he has achieved a lot more since that win in 1989.

Phil Hellmuth: Beginnings

Hellmuth familiarised with poker in his childhood while playing with his family. He got acquainted with the art of poker in university. Phil managed to save up a moderate bankroll in his hometown and to spend it all in 10 weeks in Las Vegas. The second trip brought Phil $10,000 of profit.
