Pokerstars review
Hello all, I hope you are keeping well.
So far, overall, I've enjoyed playing on Pokerstars, although there are some discrepancies that I've found which I find annoying. Let's start with the positives. The positives, and probably one of the most important aspect, is that it is a very winnable platform full of weak tight players you can make a profit from. I will say though, there are one or two sharks out there so watch out, but they seem to be easier to spot! While I have been able to bluff out one or two opponents on several occasions and win big when I hit, I have come undone a couple of times when I tried to bluff on the river against good opponents. Once one opponent called my bluff on the river with A high! (I made up for my loss by actually doing the same versus a player who had A10 unsuited versus my A ♠️ K ♠️
In the first photo I called down my opponent with AK suited because in the end, despite a scary river card, I felt he hadn't hit anything. I felt he was chasing something like a straight or a gutshot like a K 10 hand or A 10, and was bluffing, which he was.
However, the second photo shows the reverse happening to me. Here I tried to bluff a good opponent on the river, by representing either a small pair or a full house with an 8. He snap called me with A ♣️ 10 ♣️!
The bad parts about Pokerstars, used from my device anyway, is that it is so slow to get on to its platform, and whenever I go off to change a music track or something I occasionally get kicked off the site and have to start the whole process all again! It takes about 5-10 minutes just to log on. I find a lot of the decorative features, distracting and a bit annoying, and I really dislike the icon where you can throw things at your opponents, like a cartoon firework or something. It means the reason you're there for, to play poker, loses its authenticity and I also just find it distracting. Thank fully I was able to remove this as well as the chat box in settings. I prefer to play the game in an ABC style without all the nonsense, which is why I really enjoyed playing on Bwin, which I may still return to at some point in the future.
The advantage is there is a lot of choice on Pokerstars in terms of the type of game you can play. I found the larger tables a little frustrating as the players are as tight as anything, but I think I will find greater success at the 6 max tables that I'm used to playing. I'll stress once again, watch out for those sharks! On the flip side, there are far more opponents on the platform so this adds room for making more profit if there is a greater likelihood that there will be more 🐟 out there.
Let's end on a good note
Finally, I love the points system which allows you to collect points you can use to gain prizes or money as you play. This adds greater incentive for playing tighter and tougher poker. You can win money simply by grinding it out.
Overall poker room rating: 6/10
And that's it for today. Thanks for reading. Enjoy your poker!
