WSOP 2026 Week #5: Glaser, Negreanu & Mizrachi In The Sights

The countdown to the WSOP Main Event is on, so the action at tables is heating up. The fifth week at the Horseshoe Las Vegas ensured Glasser’s and Mizrachi’s entrance to the 9-bracelet club. Skye Chen shook the scene with the amazing victory of her debut bracelet. Also, Daniel Negreanu surprised us with a $1M spending that left his bankroll deep in the red. Let’s look at the most exciting stories from the WSOP 2026 Week #5!
Benny Glaser Wins $50K PPC for His 9th Trophy
Benny Glaser brought one more honour to UK poker after winning a $50K Poker Players Championship (PPC). That is the most desired spot any professional grinder would like to add to their resume. The Chip Reese Memorial Trophy in Glaser’s portfolio only strengthens his status as the mixed game tables crusher.
This achievement added the 9th WSOP bracelet to his collection, putting Johny Moss and Michael Mizrachi (a little patience – we’ll tell you more below). Glaser also took home $1.3M, so his total live earnings now exceed a stunning $12M. Great job, Benny!
Skye Chen Surpasses 1,475 Entries for Her 1st Bracelet
The record-breaking Ladies No-Limit Hold 'em Championship was a lucky ticket for Skye Chen. She grabbed her first golden trophy with absolutely no live tournament track record. The amateur player, who had been working as a software engineer for 11 years, managed to bypass 1,475 opponents.
The Ladies tourney of 2026 shattered the record of 1,368 entrants set in 2025. As Chen said, winning at WSOP was her childish dream, but outplaying seasoned pros still feels “surreal”. Well, Skye gave us one of the most unbelievable stories of this summer!
Daniel Negreanu Spends Over $1M on WSOP Buy-Ins
A little more than half of the summer action has passed, but Daniel Negreanu has fallen by over half a million. His total summer buy-ins already exceed the mark of $1M, but he only cashed $464,521. We all remember his bad start at $5K NLH during Week #1, and the black streak he faced in high-stakes tables: $250K Super High Roller and $100K High Roller.
However, he still does well this summer with some good finishes with $600, $25,000, and even $50,000 buy-ins. The net losses of $571K may seem disappointing, but not for Negreanu. But let’s not count out Daniel. He’s about to show us the real poker in July heaters. Good luck, KidPoker!
Mizrachi is Unstoppable, Grabbing His 9th Bracelet
The $10K Pot-Limit Omaha Championship was the finest hour for Michael Mizrachi. The Grinder added one more WSOP trophy to his record – his 9th bracelet in his career. He showed dominance since Day 1 and entered the final table as an undisputed leader – Mizrachi held around 80% of all chips.
Alongside the maiden trophy, the player took home $1.3M (now his total live cashes exceed $30M, according to The Hendon Mob). With this victory, Michael surpassed Shaun Deeb and Nick Schulman. As The Grinder said, his goal was to break Phil Hellmuth’s record. We all wait for that, Michael!
