WSOP 2026 Week #2: New Triumphs & Nostalgia

WSOP 2026 Week #2

Following the excitement of the opening week, the action at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2026 doesn’t seem to stop. We kept an eye on Week #2 and are ready to wrap up its historic moments. Uncover the details of Kristen Foxen’s $1.77M cash and the repeated clash between Negreanu and Hansen. Of course, we won’t leave aside the masterclass from fearless Michael Mizrachi. Look what WSOP 2026 Week #2 recorded in history.

Kristen Foxen Grabs $1.773M & 6th WSOP Bracelet

Kristen Foxen is a Canadian professional poker player, now 5th on the Canada All-Time Money list. She reiterated her nickname of “Queen of Poker” in Event #19: $25,000 High Roller. Two years earlier, she said that winning one more gold bracelet in a “special” event was what she craved. And Kristen achieved the goal at this year's WSOP series.

Foxen surpassed 345 opponents in a highly competitive field and grabbed a massive cash prize – $1,773,083. This win marks her sixth award. Also, this payday is the fifth-largest cash prize acquired by a woman in poker history. Bravo, Kristen!

Daniel Negreanu and Gus Hansen: History Repeats Itself

Day 1 of Event #23: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship brought a portion of nostalgia to all old-school poker fans. The world saw the exciting battle of game titans: Daniel Negreanu and Gus Hansen once again.

They already clashed during the High Stakes Poker TV show 20 years ago. Then, Negreanu was very close to grabbing the cash with a full house, but Hansen revealed the quads and took $575,700. This year, Daniel lost with fours full of threes to superior sevens full of Queens in Hansen’s hand. Poor, KidPoker!

Michael Mizrachi’s Comeback as Stud Chip Lead

The performance of Michael Mizrachi was exceptional. He is last year's WSOP champion with a total of 8th bracelets on the record. Michael was one of the latest to register for the $10,000 Seven Card Championship. And right after the hand started, the Grinder lost almost everything. 3,000 chips were all he had.

Having no right to error, the Poker Hall of Fame member has revealed the player we all used to see: fearless, aggressive, and instinct-driven. Revealing two pairs against Naoya Kihara, trips against David Benyamine, and a sequence of straights against other elite sharks got him to a lead of Day 2 with a chip count of 1,429,000.

Even though Naoya Kihara won the event and Mizrachi finished 5th, he proved why the reigning champion is one of the most fearless players in poker history. Better luck next time, Michael!

The New Era of High Stakes Cash Game Streams

For the first time in history, the Hustler Casino Live (HCL) show wasn’t aired at Hustler Casino on Fridays. Instead, the world saw how the new partnership between HCL and WSOP emerged. They plan to host several $100/$200 NLH games with a $50,000 entry fee throughout June. And the crown jewel is the Million Dollar Game scheduled for June 12.

Now, the biggest tournament brand and the most well-known live streams are under one roof. Poker fans from all over the world now have the best of two worlds: the grinding for gold bracelets at WSOP tables and wealthy “whales” playing at extremely high stakes. Incredible!
