I felt like I was cheating... My "God Mode" Experiment in the CardsChat Silver 🏆

Hey card mates,

I’m still trying to process what happened on the 1st of March. I’ve had some decent runs lately, but this win in the CardsChat $100 Silver Level Freeroll was different. For the last hour of the tournament, I didn’t just feel like I was playing well - I felt like I was cheating.

Since the beginning of my recorded journey, I’ve usually played a very standard, disciplined game, but the field in these Silver events is tough - there are a lot of sharp regs who don't just give chips away. After my 2nd place on William Hill bagging $20 and 1st place in the 888pokerTV Freeroll ($61 up!), I realized that to win a trophy here, I couldn't just wait for premiums.

The Inspiration
Lately, I’ve been binge-watching Linas "LlinusLlove" Loeliger (the high-stakes legend). I was fascinated by how he uses relentless pressure to put opponents in impossible spots. So, when we got deep, I decided to stop playing "survival" poker and tried to emulate that "Llinus" style aggression.

The "God Mode" Run
The result was insane. I flipped a switch and went into Ultra-Aggressive Mode. It was like I had X-ray vision. I was 3-betting light and barreling boards where I knew the range advantage was on my side. Because the CardsChat community plays so solid, they were making disciplined folds - and I just kept taking the pots.

By the time I got to heads-up, I had a massive 183k stack against 14k. I was opening almost 100% of my buttons, even taking down a pot with Jh 3h just by staying on the gas. It felt "illegal" how well the aggression was working.

The Strategy Debate
I’m curious to hear from the other card mates - where do you draw the line? I was opening nearly 50% of my range near the end.

Question for the grinders
Is it better to stick to GTO ranges when you're deep in these events, or do you think there's more value in "exploitative" aggression once you notice the table is playing for the win? I felt like I found a "cheat code" by switching gears, but I wonder if I just got lucky with my timing.

Ended up taking 1st for $24.64 and adding another win to the blog.
