My Favourite Poker Strategy: Pay Attention to Your Opponents

One thing I've learned about poker is that having good cards doesn't automatically mean you're going to win.

I would say the biggest advantage at the table comes from simply paying attention.

My favourite strategy tip is this: watch how your opponents play, even when you're not involved in the hand.

Do they raise almost every hand? Do they suddenly become cautious when facing a big bet? Are they calling too often or folding whenever someone puts pressure on them?

These little patterns can tell you lot.

I've come to appreciate that poker isn't just about sitting at the table and waiting for premium hands. It's also about understanding people and recognising their patterns to know when to take advantage of certain situations.

Of course, one action doesn't tell you everything. A player can surprise you, and that's why it's important not to make decisions based on assumptions alone.

But if you consistently pay attention, you'll start noticing things that other players might miss.
