The Poker Player Who Inspires Me: Vanessa Selbst

When people talk about poker legends, it is mostly the male that comes up. But it should be know that women are great players also, and one player I genuinely admire is Vanessa Selbst.

What makes her stand out to me isn't just her impressive record. It's the way she played the game.

She was fearless, aggresive when necessary and never seemed afraid to take on tough opponents regardless of who sitting across the table.

Vanessa is a three-time WSOP bracelet winner and one of the most successful female players in poker history.

Her achievements speak for themselves, but what I find even more inspiring is how she built her reputation in a game where women have often had to work harder to earn recognition.

I also admire how she challenged the perception of what a successful poker player should look like. She didn't need to imitate anyone else. She played her own game and made her mark.

For me, Vanessa Selbst is proof that you don't have to follow the crowd to become great at the table.
