Run-good.

A few weeks ago I finished first in a 3000 player tournament - and won a £5 ticket. (Yes, it was a freeroll.) Don't get me wrong, it was gratifying to win, and I was pleased I went the distance. Made the correct calls, folds and bluffs at the right times. But it wasn't really the sort of tournament I want to be running well in. Over the last couple of weeks I've played a number of SCOOP events, and my run-good in them was practically non-existent. That's not intended to be a moan, just a statement of fact. I know variance exists, and I'll lose flips and get suck-outs that hurt, but it is frustrating that I couldn't have that freeroll level of run-good in something worth the winning. After all, I am perfectly capable of going the distance - I have gone the distance on many occasions. And it got me thinking of the following question:

Do you ever feel that you use up all your run-good in the wrong tournaments?

Because it's starting to feel that way to me.

This is such a good question. And I was only yesterday thinking of posting something similar.

For anyone that's played online. There is a weird time when I feel the app I giving you the win.

It's almost like you can't lose. Even folding then  seeing the flop after, your 2,7 would have hit a full house or something silly.

These always seem to happen as you say at the wrong times.

I wish I had bad games and scraped through satellites then smashed the main event. But I do feel especially with freerolls (and especially when it's stage 1 of 3 for instance )

You get on a roll win 3 satellite's but once on main event nothing works.

I don't know how much of this may be down to psychology. Do we just play different when it matters.

I feel you. Do you think you play any different once you get close to the money or get into main events.

Interesting to find out. Perhaps it's a mindset thing.
